Painter looks to the sky for art

An avid cyclist navigates Placitas’ foothills turning chains into art. A painter looks to New Mexico’s ever-shifting skies for roiling clouds and living sunsets.

Stephen Feher and Katherine Irish are two of 59 artists showing their work in the 19th Annual Placitias Studio Tour on Mother’s Day weekend, May 7-8.

The artists are opening their studios for a personal and educational look at their work. The 49 studios will showcase paintings, wearable art, fiber art, photography, ceramics, batik, woodworking, glass, jewelry, mosaics, sculpture, metalwork and mixed-media.
